New quality and environmental certificates for Itella Logistics
In February 2009, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certificates were awarded to the service warehouse of Itella Logistics in Juvanmalmi, Espoo, the fashion logistics warehouse in Lahti and the logistics center in Vantaa.
The certificates are a demonstration of the continuous and determined work to improve quality and environmental issues. Likewise, Itella is responding to the ecological expectations of its customers and other stakeholders and is ensuring business continuity over the long term.
Among the premises to receive the quality and environmental certificates is one of Finland's biggest logistics centers, the sorting and terminal operations of Vantaa's logistics center. Around 22 million packages are handled in Vantaa every year.
Quality and environmental certificates will also be applied for during the current year for other premises belonging to Itella Logistics in Finland and Sweden, as well as for the new service warehouses opened in Norway.
ISO 9001 quality certificates have already been awarded in Finland to Kauko Group and Itella NLC in Russia, which are subsidiaries of Itella Logistics. An ISO 14001 environmental certificate has been awarded to Itella Logistics in Sweden.
