This is not a real job advertisement, but a question – with a follow-up question. Which of the following two is more likely to make you apply for a job: a) an ad you see in a newspaper, b) a personal letter inviting you to a job interview? The latter seems more personal – even flattering – doesn’t it? It gives you the impression that the company is interested in your personality and skills.
Direct mail is a suitable way to approach strangers. For example, you can start the acquisition of new customers by using the company’s own customer register or by purchasing contact information from external databases and address registers. The main goal is to come up with criteria that describe the target group as closely as possible and can be used to pick recipients. Customer profiling enables the most interesting customer groups to be duplicated, for example, from the Population Information System using several, sometimes overlapping, variables. New customers can, of course, also be acquired by compiling an address database through sample distribution, invitations, trial runs, competitions and the like. We will take care of this, too.
